Product details
The Thermal Master P3 is a plug-in thermal camera for Android, iPhone and PC. It pairs a native 256×192 sensor with X³IR enhancement to 512×384, sensitivity under 35 mK, a range up to 600°C and a manual-focus lens with macro capability, which makes it a strong pick for fine electronics work as well as general inspection.

What the specs mean in practice
Resolution and spot size. 256×192 gives 49,152 temperature points. With a roughly 40° field of view each pixel covers about 2.7 mm at 1 m, so small components show up clearly when you are close.
Sensitivity. Under 35 mK is among the best on our phone cameras. It helps reveal faint heat patterns, such as a slightly warm component or a subtle draft.
Manual macro focus. You can adjust focus for close-up views of small parts. That is the main reason to choose the P3 for PCB inspection.
What you can use it for
- Electronics repair: find a hot component on a powered board.
- HVAC and electrical: check connections, motors and equipment up to 600°C.
- Building checks: find insulation gaps, leaks and moisture.
- Mixed-device work: use the same camera with an Android phone, an iPhone or a laptop.
Who should look elsewhere
- You want a standalone camera with its own screen. See the MILESEEY TR20.
- You want a lower-cost entry model for casual home checks. See the UNI-T UTi120 Mobile.
How it compares
- Thermal Master P2: Android only, 40 mK sensitivity, even smaller.
- TOPDON TC001 Max: adds a visible-light lens with dual-light mode.
Tips for better results
- Focus before you measure, especially on small parts.
- Shiny bare metal reads cooler than it really is. Measure a patch of black electrical tape instead.
- Glass blocks thermal imaging, so you see the glass surface and not what is behind it.
- For building checks, a difference of roughly 10°C (18°F) or more between inside and outside gives the clearest results.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with both iPhone and Android?
The P3 supports Android, iOS and PC. iPhone 15 and newer use USB-C, and earlier iPhones use Lightning, so confirm your port when you order.
What is manual focus for?
It lets you sharpen the image at different distances, including close-up views of small components.
Is 512×384 native?
The sensor is 256×192. The 512×384 figure is enhanced output from X³IR processing.
How much power does it use?
About 0.32 W, so it is gentle on a phone battery.
What is the maximum temperature?
600°C (1,112°F).
Common applications
Electronics and circuit-board inspection, Building inspections, HVAC diagnostics. Choose a thermal camera based on the target size, working distance and required measurement accuracy.
Buying guidance
Compare native infrared sensor resolution, temperature measurement range and device compatibility before ordering. Image enhancement does not increase native sensor resolution. For questions about suitability, contact ThermalVisionPlus before purchase.
