Product details
The UNI-T UTi120 Mobile is a 25 g thermal camera module for Android phones. It connects over USB-C, uses a 120×90 sensor with a wide 50° × 38° field of view, and adds analysis tools, video recording and a drop-proof build, so it works as a low-cost, always-in-the-bag inspection tool.

What the specs mean in practice
Resolution and spot size. An IFOV of 7.3 mrad means each pixel covers about 7 mm at 1 m (73 mm at 10 m). For a reliable temperature reading a target should cover several pixels, so it works best on larger objects at close to medium range.
Wide view. 50° × 38° covers a lot in one frame, which suits rooms, panels and equipment cabinets.
Analysis tools. Multiple on-screen points, lines, rectangles and circles let you read several areas at once and compare them.
What you can use it for
- Home checks: find heat loss, hot outlets and appliance faults.
- HVAC: check supply registers, ducts and heated floors.
- Electrical: scan breaker panels and connections.
- Documentation: record video of a scan to share with a client or contractor.
Who should look elsewhere
- You use an iPhone or iPad. This module is Android only.
- You need fine detail on small electronics. See the HTI HT-203U (256×192).
How it compares
- YXP96A: a 96×96 sensor at a lower price.
- HTI HT-203U: 256×192 for Android, with a 0.3 to 3 m working distance.
Tips for better results
- Get close enough that the target covers several pixels.
- Shiny bare metal reads cooler than it really is. Measure a patch of black electrical tape instead.
- Glass blocks thermal imaging, so you see the glass surface and not what is behind it.
- For building checks, a difference of roughly 10°C (18°F) or more between inside and outside gives the clearest results.
What is in the box
- UTi120 Mobile thermal camera module
- 1 m USB-C cable
- USB-C to micro-USB adapter
- Storage box
Frequently asked questions
Does it need a charger?
No. It powers from the phone.
Is it good for electronics?
It can find hot components on larger boards. For close-up PCB work, a higher-resolution model gives more detail.
Can I record video?
Yes. It supports photo capture and video recording.
What does focus free mean?
The lens has no focus adjustment. It stays sharp across its working range, so you just point and look.
Which phones work?
Android phones with a USB-C port that supports external camera accessories.
Best-fit applications
Android phone-based HVAC and building checks. Check the native sensor resolution, lens and device compatibility to decide whether this model fits your intended working distance and target size.
