What the specs mean in practice

Resolution and spot size. 256×192 gives 49,152 thermal pixels, more than four times a 120×90 camera. At 3.8 mrad each pixel covers about 3.8 mm at 1 m (about 11 mm at 3 m), so you can pick out small hot connections from a safe distance.

Fusion mode. The 640×480 visible camera lets you blend thermal and visible images, so a hot spot is easy to match to a specific component.

Rugged build. IP65 seals the body against dust and water jets, and the 2 m drop rating suits job-site use. The trade-off is size: this is a work tool, not a pocket camera.

What you can use it for

  • Electrical maintenance: scan panels, switchgear, motors and busbars.
  • HVAC: check coils, ducts and heating systems.
  • Building and roof checks: find moisture, insulation gaps and heat loss.
  • Industrial: monitor furnaces, boilers and process equipment up to 550°C.

Who should look elsewhere

  • You want a pocket-sized unit. See the MILESEEY TR10.
  • You need certified radiometric reports for formal thermography work.

How it compares

Tips for better results

  • Scan electrical equipment under normal load and compare like with like.
  • Shiny bare metal reads cooler than it really is. Measure a patch of black electrical tape instead.
  • Glass blocks thermal imaging, so you see the glass surface and not what is behind it.
  • Use hot and cold spot tracking to find the extremes in a scene, then check them against the visible image.

What is in the box

  • UTi260B thermal camera
  • microSD card
  • USB-C cable and manual

Frequently asked questions

What does IP65 mean?
The body is sealed against dust and protected against water jets, which helps on job sites.

Can I move images to a computer?
Yes. Use the USB-C connection or the microSD card, and open them in the PC analysis software.

How is it different from the 120×90 UNI-T models?
It has more than four times as many thermal pixels, a wider temperature range and a tougher body.

Do I need to focus it?
No. It is focus free.

How long does the battery last?
Six hours or more of use.

Common applications

Electrical panel inspections, Industrial maintenance, HVAC troubleshooting. Choose a thermal camera based on the target size, working distance and required measurement accuracy.

Buying guidance

Compare native infrared sensor resolution, temperature measurement range and device compatibility before ordering. Image enhancement does not increase native sensor resolution. For questions about suitability, contact ThermalVisionPlus before purchase.
