Product details

The HTI HT-03 is a handheld thermal camera with a built-in visible-light camera and a 120×90 infrared sensor. It covers -20°C to 550°C, records photos and video, and stores everything on the device so you can read it over USB. It is a popular, affordable choice for floor-heating, pipe and electronics checks.

At a glance

  • 120×90 infrared sensor, 50 mK sensitivity
  • -20°C to 550°C with adjustable emissivity
  • Built-in visible camera and video recording
  • Center point, hot and cold spot cursors
  • Appears as a drive over micro-USB

What the specs mean in practice

Resolution. 120×90 gives 10,800 thermal pixels. It is well suited to tracing a heating loop or pipe run, where the pattern is large, and less suited to fine detail on small parts.

Wide range. Two temperature ranges (-20°C to 120°C and 120°C to 550°C) cover both building work and hot equipment.

Visible camera. A normal photo next to the thermal image makes reports and before-and-after comparisons much easier to understand.

What you can use it for

  • Radiant floor heating: trace loops and find cold or blocked sections.
  • Pipes: follow hot and cold lines through walls and floors.
  • Electronics: find hot components on boards and equipment.
  • Documentation: save thermal and visible images and video for clients.

Who should look elsewhere

  • You need all-day battery life. Runtime is about 2 to 3 hours. The UNI-T UTi120S runs around 9 hours.
  • You want more detail than a 120×90 sensor provides. See the UNI-T UTi260B.

How it compares

  • UNI-T UTi120S: the same resolution class with a longer battery life and a 400°C range.
  • HABOTEST HT821A: 96×96 native sensor with temperature alarms.

Tips for better results

  • For floor heating, run the system for a while first so the loops are clearly warmer than the floor.
  • Shiny bare metal reads cooler than it really is. Measure a patch of black electrical tape instead.
  • Set emissivity to match the material you are measuring.
  • Glass blocks thermal imaging, so you see the glass surface and not what is behind it.

What is in the box

  • HT-03 thermal camera with wrist strap
  • Manual and micro-USB cable
  • 5 W USB power supply

Frequently asked questions

How do I get images onto my computer?
Connect it by USB. It appears as an external drive with separate folders for images and videos.

Can it measure hot objects?
Yes, up to 550°C, across two temperature ranges.

Does the visible camera help?
Yes. It lets you match a thermal hot spot to the real component or surface.

How long does the battery last?
About 2 to 3 hours of use.

Can I adjust emissivity?
Yes, from 0.01 to 1.00, with presets.

Best-fit applications

Pipe inspections, floor-heating checks and electrical maintenance. Check the native sensor resolution, lens and device compatibility to decide whether this model fits your intended working distance and target size.

Before you buy

Review the specifications above and confirm compatibility with your equipment. Image enhancement is not the same as native infrared sensor resolution. Contact ThermalVisionPlus if you need help comparing models.
